I saw a question about Icarsoft reader and Foxwell on the forum: Have Jaguar XJ / XJR (X351) 2010-2019 to reset service intervals, Icarsoft reader or Foxwell NT530 / NT510 Elite?
- Icarsoft reader review: not idea for the later models.
I can confirm that icarsoft will rest the service interval on a 2010 model, although it appears it won’t on later models.
I can confirm that the latest Icarsoft kit will not reset the service interval on a 2016 X351.
it looks like the earlier models, perhaps 10 plates, 11 plates, maybe 12 plates seem to be able to work with the Icarsoft LRV2.
Software has obviously been changed in the XJ face-lift to hinder the DIY bloke.
- Foxwell NT530 Scanner: Confirmed working
I purchased a Foxwell NT530 when I bought my 2012 XJ. It HAS JLR specific software, in addition to OBD II. It has functions for the EPB, battery reset, modules, live sensor reading, etc. It costs $169.00 respectively, including shipping to US or EU. I don’t work for them or sell them, but can just vouch that they work well.
Foxwell NT530 is better bang for buck, it is able to troubleshoot the problem, also it is handheld scanner without installing software on an laptop especially if you are not tech savvy. it’s quite good. It can see all the modules, read all the faults of every module and show live data etc.
